Nabil Mohamed

4Sale

Nabil Mohamed

4Sale

Been in Tech for 10+ years now, and currently leading a workforce of around 80 people -spanning Software Engineering, Product, UX Design, Analytics, and Operations- at 4Sale, one of the Middle East’s largest online marketplaces. Industrial Engineer by education, and graduated with Honors from the American University in Cairo in 2010. A few months out of college, joined Vodafone’s Discover program in its inaugural year. This unlocked valuable exposure to how a high-performance company conducts its business. For 3 years, held a variety of junior roles (focusing primarily on under-served consumer segments and price sensitivity), and learned the basics of data analysis, risk assessment, and decision-making. Then traveled to Boston to enroll at Harvard’s MBA program, spending a couple of years surrounded & humbled by some truly brilliant people. Learned a lot there, and made great friends. Upon graduating, relocated to Seattle and spent the following 5 years working primarily at Amazon. There, held vital Product roles at both Amazon ReCommerce -helping automate damaged products’ destinations- and at Prime Video -radically improving the app’s offline experience. Especially at HQ, Amazon is intense. Fast-paced, no-nonsense, and grueling. It’s not for everyone, but loved it…and learned a ton. Returned to Egypt, as always planned, in 2020, and started by helping Instabug -a key global player in application quality management- expand its product portfolio and build out most of its stellar Product and Design teams and processes. Since 2022, been focused on transforming 4Sale into a regional powerhouse. Scaling up the company is a ton of work, but so far it’s going extremely well. Fingers crossed and staying paranoid.
